Residence Halls Receive Updates Before New School Year

While students are away in the summer there is always work to be done on the residence halls to prepare them for the upcoming school year. This summer several of them have seen repairs and updates.

In Wilson Hall, the building exterior was repainted and power washed.  Additionally, carpet in the rooms on the second floor was removed and replaced with vinyl tile.

Caraway Hall also received new paint and power washing on the building exterior. Parts of the roof were also repaired. Likewise, the entire roof was replaced on Tucker Hall. Plaster was repaired in various rooms and each shower unit was re-tiled.

The parking lot at Stadium Suites has been resurfaced. There have also been several updates at South Hall. The hallway, common areas, and each room have been updated. The carpet has been replaced in all hallways, common areas and rooms as well.  All bathrooms have been repainted and new vanities have been put in. Additionally, the roof was replaced.

Brown Hall has seen a lot of updates and repairs this summer. The hallways, stairwells and lobby have all been re-painted. The hallways also received new lighting and carpet. The built in closets and vanity were removed from all rooms, tile was placed were those had been. Two wardrobes and dressers will replace the units that were removed. The lobby received new lighting, and all carpet was taken out. The original terrazzo flooring is being refinished now.

Lastly at Eastgate Apartments all units have been cleaned and painted. The exterior of the building was power washed and the landscaping was cleaned up.

In all buildings security devices have been placed on televisions in the lobby areas.

Renovations are all expected to wrap up in the next few weeks, and be ready for when students move in at the end of the month.
