Residence Hall Upgrades Nearly Complete

As students are returning to campus this weekend, crews are hard at work to finish renovations to the Arkansas Tech residence halls.

Each summer the Office of Residential Life works to perform upgrades to the residence halls on the Arkansas Tech campus.

This summer crews painted the rooms and hallways in Brown Hall and Paine Hall, and they also painted the lobby areas in Nutt Hall.  When students return to Nutt Hall, they’ll also enjoy new furniture in each of the lobby spaces.

Aaron Hogan, assistant director of housing, says one lobby on each floor will be a recreational space, while the other lobby will be a study space.

Several of the buildings in the University Commons have been painted and have new carpet, and 12 rooms at Campus Court were completely renovated with new paint, carpet and fixtures.

In addition to the interior renovations, Roush Hall and Jones Hall have both been closed for the summer, so crews could install a new roof on each facility.

Officials in the Office of Residential Life say all the residence halls are utilized throughout the year, so summer is the only time to perform renovations to the halls.
