Update: Henry Elects to Turn Pro

Arkansas Tech head men’s basketball coach Doug Karleskint told the Associated Press on Friday that Jason Henry has decided to turn professional rather than playing for the Wonder Boys in 2010-11.

As late as Thursday, it was believed that Henry would resume his college basketball career at Arkansas Tech this winter.

Instead, Henry will pursue opportunities to play professionally overseas.

Henry (photographed), a 6-foot-6 forward, was ranked as the 54th best high school basketball player in the nation by Rivals.com before joining the men’s basketball program at the University of Arkansas.

He averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game during his one season with the Razorbacks in 2008-09.

Henry won a pair of state titles during his high school basketball career. He averaged 28 points, eight rebounds and six assists per game during his senior season at West Memphis High School.
