Arkansas Tech University Marketing and Communication (MARCOMM) is finishing work on a redesign of the university website, www.atu.edu.
The updated site will feature mobile-first design, revamped navigation and full-screen functionality.
MARCOMM redesigned the website as a tool to aid in student recruitment and retention.
“We know students have many options when they are making decisions about where to attend college,” said Dr. Blake Bedsole, ATU vice president for enrollment management. “By telling the Arkansas Tech story and connecting students with resources available, we hope that future and current students will see and be able to take advantage of all the opportunities and resources Arkansas Tech has to offer.”
Additionally, the site is designed to highlight key audiences that engage with the university. These include future students, parents, alumni and supporters.
The work on the redesign started more than a year ago and has included presentations with the university executive council as well as focus groups testing with current and future students.
Following internal research, MARCOMM has worked with a nationally-recognized partner to ensure the site meets best practice standards for higher education websites.
MARCOMM hopes to launch the site in August and is currently working to develop a training plan to assist department web publishers through the transition.
