Reaching Out to Off-Campus Students

The Arkansas Tech Office of Student Services wants to make sure that Tech students who live off campus are just as well informed about campus activities as those who live in university housing.

The Arkansas Tech Office of Student Services wants to make sure that Tech students who live off campus are just as well informed about campus activities as those who live in university housing. Representatives from the Office of Student Services will host a hospitality tent in commuter student parking areas twice per month during the fall 2010 semester as a way of connecting with off-campus students. There will be free muffins, coffee and juice under the tent and each student will be presented with a flyer outlining upcoming activities on campus. The semester-long initiative started on Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the Tucker Coliseum parking lot. The next event in the series is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in the Witherspoon Hall lower parking lot. The program will return to the Tucker Coliseum parking lot on Oct. 19 and Nov. 16, and it will make a return visit to the Witherspoon Hall parking lot on Nov. 2. In addition to information about campus events, representatives from Norman Career Services will also attend the hospitality tents and provide interested students with details about the latest employment opportunities. For more information about the program, call (479) 968-0276.
