Rapper IN-Q at Arkansas Tech

Arkansas Tech Student Activities Board is welcoming rapper and spoken word artist IN-Q to Doc’s Place.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, students will be able to share their own spoken word art. IN-Q will take the stage at 9 p.m.

IN-Q’s work has been featured on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, NBC, ABC, BET, A&E, TV Guide, Animal Planet, and Nickelodeon.

He was the National Poetry Slam Champion in 2004 and the Hollywood Grand Slam Champion in 2007. IN-Q has shared the stage with a variety of people from President Barack Obama to The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Most recently, IN-Q released a poetry CD, “When Two Worlds Collide.” URB Magazine reviewed the album, saying, “IN-Q’s brand of hip-hop/spoken word, a penetratingly fluent account of what he’s been through, paired with retro-funky sampling, is believable… His newest album puts true mastery of rhythmic-artistic poetry on exhibit.”

This event is free to all students with a valid Tech identification card.
