Game One: NWOSU 3, Arkansas Tech 2 Allora Miller pitched a complete game and struck out 12 Arkansas Tech batters to lead Northwestern Oklahoma State to a 3-2 win in game one Friday. Miller (9-7) allowed two runs on four hits. Her offense supported her with run-scoring singles from Shelby Anderson, Jessika Sandoval and Madison McGraw. The Rangers led 3-1 going to the seventh and final inning. Ashley Savage smacked a one-out solo home run to pull the Golden Suns within a run of the lead, but Miller retired the next two hitters to preserve Northwestern Oklahoma State’s victory. Jalissa Gum had a first-inning RBI double for the Suns. Arkansas Tech starting pitcher Morgan Vaughan (8-2) was charged with three runs on eight hits in three and one-third innings. Sydnee Clark provided the Golden Suns with two and two-thirds innings of relief, during which time she did not allow a hit or a run. Game Two: NWOSU 6, Arkansas Tech 5 Miller won game one of Friday’s doubleheader with her arm. She won the nightcap with her bat. Miller’s solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning provided what proved to be the winning run in a 6-5 Northwestern Oklahoma State victory over Arkansas Tech. Alicia Lowrey hit a two-run home run, Whitney Robinson and Ashley Savage had one RBI apiece and Kambri Hill went 3-for-3 with a run scored for the Golden Suns. NWOSU’s Shelby Anderson (8-9) pitched a complete game. She allowed five runs, four of which were earned, on 10 hits.
