Vick Named Homecoming Queen

Arkansas Tech has crowned Ashley Vick as its 2011 Homecoming Queen.

Vick was crowned by Dr. Robert C. Brown, Tech president, during pre-game festivities at Saturday’s football game against the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm.  During the festivities, Vick was escorted by her father, and following the crowning, she was presented flowers by SGA President Robert Norman.

Vick is a junior emergency management major from Greenwood.

She is active in Tech Sweethearts, Wesley Foundation, Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Church of Christ Student Center and First Baptist Church of Russellville.

Additionally, she serves as a resident assistant at Turner Hall.  Vick was nominated for the Homecoming court by the Tech Sweethearts.

Vick says she is honored to represent her university as the Homecoming queen.  “ I can’t fully explain how at home I feel here,” she explains.  “Whether it’s the teachers, organizations, spirit or friends, Arkansas Tech is the complete package.”

Vick says she would like to thank the Tech Sweethearts, the student body, her friends and family for all of their support.
