The Arkansas Tech Theatre Program will premiere a new collectively-created play “Disease of the Soul” Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m.
The play will be housed in the Techionery. Follow up productions will be held on Oct. 28 and 29, also at 8 p.m.
This piece, inspired by Emile Autumn’s songs and writings, has granted Arkansas Tech permission to use her music as part of the production.
Under the direction of Kate Brugh, the play revolves around the life of Ammalie, a country girl who is committed to an asylum after becoming pregnant. The story examines the issues related to female “madness” and the attitude reflected by society in the early 1800s.
General admission for the production is $8, and a discounted price for the Tech community of $5 will be offered.
