Officer Charles Petty of the Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety was awarded the Meritorious Service Award at the recent Judicial Summit.
Petty received the award earlier this month for his contributions in combating underage drinking in the Arkansas River Valley.
Meritorious Service Awards are awarded in recognition of an officer’s continuing loyal service and dedication to keeping the community and citizens of Arkansas safe. The awards are recognized by Senator Michael Lamoureux, State Representative Andrea Lea, Russellville Mayor Bill Eaton, the River Valley Prevention Coalition and other local organizations and government agencies.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Officer Petty for a job well done in representing the Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety,” Lt. John Pritchard said.
“His hard work and dedication have proven to be recognized as an asset to his community and this Department,” Sgt. Donald Ramirez said.
