Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff are invited by the ATU Office of Civic Engagement to become student voter registration advocates during the fall 2020 semester.

The outreach is one aspect of the Ask Every Student program. The National Resource Consortium on Full Student Voter Participation and the Students Learn, Students Vote Coalition announced during summer 2020 that ATU has been selected as a codesigner campus in the Ask Every Student program.

ATU is the only institution in Arkansas that was selected as a codesigner campus and one of just 31 universities in the nation chosen for the honor. Other institutions named Ask Every Student codesigner campuses include Harvard University, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Texas-Austin.

According to its website, the non-partisan Ask Every Student program is based on the notion that “full student voter participation comes down to accessing at least three minutes of individualized focus from each student to talk about voter engagement and, if eligible, register them to vote.”

As a student voter registration advocate, ATU faculty and staff will receive a card for their office door, information on voter registration and education opportunities, a button to wear around campus, voter registration forms and a unique e-mail signature to use throughout the next few months.

ATU faculty and staff may register for the program by visiting www.atu.edu/service/voter-registration-advocate.php.
