Program in Final Stages of Accreditation Process

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus is in the final stages of the accreditation process.  The program will undergo a final visit from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) on February 1-3.

The visit is designed to provide a comprehensive view of the physical therapy education program in its particular environment and will consist of interviews with administrative officials, faculty and students of the program.

Community members will have the opportunity to meet with members of the review team during the visit.  The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, in the Student Services and Conference Center on the Ozark Campus.

Accreditation is necessary for program graduates to be eligible for licensure consideration in the state of Arkansas.

Physical therapist assistants work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists to provide prescribed treatments and exercises aimed at improving mobility, relieving pain or preventing or limiting physical disability.
