An idea to manufacture and sell goods produced by a 3D printer took top honors in a business plan pitch competition for Arkansas Tech University students conducted at the Co-Create Innovation Hub in Russellville on Wednesday, April 23.
The team of Brayden May of Atkins, Nick Vang of Gentry and Amber Carey of Western Grove presented the winning concept, which is named Prime Prints. Their pitch included details about their marketing plan, social media strategy and target audience.
Judges Josh Edgin of the Russellville School District, Todd Meimerstorf of Moore and Company Realtors and Sarah Teagle of Teagle Consulting listened to and evaluated six business plan pitches from teams of ATU students.
All of the ATU students who presented ideas during the competition are enrolled in the senior-level Entrepreneurial Development course taught by Cass Capen-Housley, ATU instructor of management.
The second-place business plan pitch, entitled Blueberry Acres, was presented by Ashley Muller of Cabot, Jennifer Cruz Garcia of Clarksville, Yusi Garcia of Russellville and Flossie Glinski of Damascus.
The team of Jordan Clouse of Scottsdale, Ariz., Noah Denniston of Deer and Gabe Stanley of Danville took third place with an idea entitled JNG CNC Machining Inc.
