The north side of the Russellville campus of Arkansas Tech University experienced a power outage on the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 20.
As of 1:45 p.m., the cause of the outage and the estimated time of return for service was unknown. Representatives from the ATU Office of Facilities Management began working with representatives from Entergy to restore service.
Shortly after 2 p.m., it was reported that a downed tree was believed to be the cause of the power outage. As of 2:10 p.m., crews were working to clear the tree as a first step toward the restoration of service. On its website, Entergy estimated that power will be restored at approximately 3:30 p.m.
At 2:30 p.m., the ATU Department of Public Safety reported that all elevators in the buildings without power have been checked and there are no individuals stuck in the elevators.
Electricity was restored in the affected buildings by 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
