www.facebook.com/ATUOzark, or e-mailed to Public Information Coordinator Charlie Gocio at cgocio@atu.edu so they may be posted or shared during a formal celebration slated for Tuesday, Sept. 10. Arkansas Tech-Ozark asks that members of the River Valley communities mark their calendars and plan to join the festivities later this year. Chief Academic Officer Bruce Sikes said, “Many of us use Facebook to keep up with friends and family, and that’s how we think of the Ozark Campus: family – so we’re wanting everyone to touch base with us and help celebrate.” Arkansas Tech-Ozark was established in 1965 as Arkansas Valley Vocational Technical School (AVVTS). In 1975, the Arkansas State Board of Education/Vocational Education granted accreditation to AVVTS, making it the first school of its kind in the state to receive that distinction. In 1991, the campus was renamed Arkansas Valley Technical Institute (AVTI). On July 1, 2003, AVTI merged with Arkansas Tech to become Arkansas Tech-Ozark.
