Poinsettia Sale Returns to Campus

The Arkansas Tech University Department of Agriculture will once again help the community prepare for the holiday season when the department hosts its annual poinsettia sale on Thursday, Dec. 3, and Friday, Dec. 4.

The sale is taking place at the Arkansas Tech Greenhouses, which are located on the north end of campus, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Signs will be posted to direct shoppers to the greenhouses.

Both days of the sale, the Arkansas Tech Greenhouses will be open for shoppers from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The greenhouses are located on the north end of Tech’s campus, and signs will be posted to assist shoppers.

“I have overseen this sale for more than 30 years,” said Dr. Jim Collins, professor of agriculture at Arkansas Tech. “It has become a community tradition as a way to prepare for the holidays.”

Several traditional plants will be available for purchase. Additionally, painted and glittered plants will be up for grabs.

Students enrolled in a plant propagation course at Arkansas Tech were responsible for growing and caring for the poinsettias. The students began preparing for the sale months ago.

Sale proceeds will be re-invested in greenhouse plants and supplies for students in the Arkansas Tech Department of Agriculture.
