Pinning Ceremony Set for Friday

The Department of Nursing at Arkansas Tech will recognize graduating nursing students during a pinning ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 13.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at The Journey in Russellville.

During the ceremony, participants will be presented a nursing pin from their friends and family, and each participant will have the opportunity to recite the Nightingale Creed.

Additionally, several awards will be presented to the senior nursing students.  The following award winners will be recognized:

  • Student Nurse Award – selected by the graduating nurses and given to a student that personifies nursing professionalism
  • Outstanding Community Nurse Award – selected by the graduating class and awarded to a nurse who exemplifies the nursing role model
  • St. Mary’s Medical Staff/Wilkins Award for Academic Excellence – given to the student who has maintained academic excellence throughout the nursing program

Following the ceremony, a reception is planned to honor the students and their families.
