Kathy Pierce is retiring from Arkansas Tech University following 16 years of service.

A reception will be held Thursday from 2-3 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Multipurpose Room. Everyone is invited to stop by and wish her well as she begins her retirement.

Pierce has served as institutional assistant for the Vice President of Student Services throughout her time at Tech.

Upon retirement, Pierce said she looks forward to spending time with her family, especially her mother and grandchildren.

“I have learned so much during my time here. You would not believe the transition made between when I first started and now. It’s truly amazing.”

Additionally, Pierce has spent many years working with Student Government Association. She said, “I have enjoyed being able to build relationships with students, and working with students keeps you young!”

The Board of Trustees approved Pierce’s retirement at a meeting earlier this month.
