Arkansas Tech University’s Peerada Piddon emerged as the individual champion at the rain-shortened 2018 Central Region Preview at Prairie Highlands Golf Club in Olathe, Kan.
Piddon fired a 1-under par round of 71 on Monday to earn a two-stroke victory among a field of 90 players.
The final round, which was scheduled for Tuesday, was rained out.
The Golden Suns had a team score of 303 and finished tied for second with the University of Central Missouri. Northeastern State University won the team championship with a score of 302.
Bhenyapa Buranasiri (T-2nd, 73), Sydney Staton (T-20th, 77), Allie Weiner (T-56th, 82) and Pia Nunbhakdi (T-67th, 83) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ team score in Olathe.
Arkansas Tech’s Jacqueline Kiemm (T-39th, 80) competed as an individual.
Head coach Amy Anderson and the Golden Suns will return to action Sept. 10-11 at the UIndy Invitational in Carmel, Ind.
