Pianalto Takes Top Prize in Juried Student Competitive

Millie Pianalto of Springdale is the champion of the 13th annual Arkansas Tech University Juried Student Competitive Exhibition.

Pianalto captured first place with her submission of a charcoal drawing entitled “Starry Eyed.”

Fifty-two ATU students submitted 106 works of art for possible inclusion in the show, which is on display in Norman Hall Art Gallery, 203 West Q Street in Russellville. Thirty-nine pieces from 26 student artists were selected.

Twenty-five seniors, 10 juniors, seven sophomores and 10 freshmen submitted their art for review.

The exhibition will remain available for public viewing at Norman Hall Art Gallery weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through the end of November (excluding holidays).
