Phi Mu to Celebrate Philanthropy Next Week

The Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu at Arkansas Tech has announced Philanthropy Week 2012, which will be held Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5.

On Monday, April 2, “Phi Mu for Kids at the Hindsman Tower” will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. For one dollar, passersby can put their handprints and name on a banner that will hang in the Baswell Techionery throughout the week.

On Tuesday, April 3, Phi Mu invites everyone to attend “Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A” on East Main Street in Russellville from 5-8 p.m. The event is in support of Phi Mu’s national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network.

“Vera Bradley Bingo” will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in Doc Bryan Room 242. Women from the campus and community are invited to play bingo and win beautiful prizes. Ten games cost $10, and proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Arkansas Tech Chapter’s local philanthropy.

“Polos and Pearls Miracle Worker Competition” will be held Thursday, April 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the Phi Mu House. There will be field game competitions with prizes, live music, a silent auction and refreshments. Teams of five are invited to participate, with a $25 team fee to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. The deadline to register is Monday, March 26.

Sponsors have until Thursday, March 29, to get involved with Philanthropy Week and get their logo on a t-shirt.
