Pederson Presents at National Conference

Dr. Rockie Pederson, associate professor of health and physical education at Arkansas Tech University, took part in a presentation at a national conference for physical education teachers earlier this month. 

Dr. Rockie Pederson, associate professor of health and physical education at Arkansas Tech University, took part in a presentation at a national conference for physical education teachers earlier this month.

Peterson presented at the Physical Education Teacher Education Conference that took place in Las Vegas Oct. 3-6.  The conference only occurs every three years and is designed to discuss current issues, initiatives and research impacting physical education teacher programs.

She co-presented a session entitled “Mining with Diamonds: Sustaining Collegiality and Collaboration across Southern District”.  The session discussed methods to help students become critical reflective practitioners utilizing peer collaboration and other tools.

The presentation focused on efforts to connect physical education students from several universities to discuss their teaching philosophies and to collaborate on lesson plan development.
