Arkansas Tech University will host a community event celebrating its softball program when Pack the Berm 2017 takes place on Saturday, April 15, at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville.
Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with a bounce house for children and a dunk tank featuring personalities from the ATU Department of Athletics.
Individuals will receive three throws at the dunk tank target for each box of cereal they donate for distribution to children in need through River Valley Food 4 Kids.
The bounce house and the dunk tank are scheduled to remain open until 3 p.m.
At 11 a.m., Tyson Foods of Dardanelle will provide free food and free T-shirts to the first 100 fans in attendance.
The main event begins at noon with first pitch for a Great American Conference doubleheader between the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (27-15 overall, 21-9 GAC) and the University of Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms (28-12, 21-7).
Admission to Pack the Berm and the softball games will be free and open to the public.
