P-Safe Citizens Academy Seeks Participants

Students, faculty and staff at Arkansas Tech University are invited to apply for a Public Safety Citizens Academy that will be hosted by the Department of Public Safety.

The academy will meet from 6-8 p.m. each Thursday from Oct. 27-Nov. 17 in Rothwell Hall room 207.

Topics during the four-week program will include patrol, traffic stops, alcohol and drug investigations, crime scene processing and criminal investigations. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and reality-based scenarios to simulate real-world police encounters.

Those interested in being a member of the Public Safety Citizens Academy should send a brief narrative communicating why they should be selected for the program, their T-number and their phone number to Detective Ashley Phillips of the Arkansas Tech Department of Public Safety at aphillips21@atu.edu.

Those selected as participants will be notified by e-mail.
