ATU-Ozark to Honor Veterans Thursday

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus will honor United States military veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country during a special event on Thursday, Nov. 8.

ATU-Ozark welcomes students and community members to attend the 11 a.m. presentation in Student Services Conference Center room 117. Students will lead the “Star Spangled Banner” and Pledge of Allegiance followed by a presentation and special guest speaker, Major Gen. Mark Berry.

Berry (photographed) assumed duties as Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard on Jan. 13, 2015. He is a member of the governor’s cabinet and is responsible for commanding the Arkansas Air and Army National Guard, which are comprised of approximately 10,000 airmen, soldiers and state employees.

As Adjutant General, Berry is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the readiness, fiscal, personnel, equipment and real property resources of the Arkansas Military Department. He ensures the training readiness of all personnel to accomplish both state and federal missions. Berry has garnered numerous awards and decorations during his career and has served his country for more than 30 years.

After the presentation, attendees are welcomed to join ATU-Ozark for a luncheon, which is first come, first served.
