Ozark Campus Pinning Ceremony

The Arkansas Tech University- Ozark Campus will honor its graduating nursing students during a pinning ceremony Friday evening.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Services and Conference Center at Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus.

During the ceremony, Bruce Sikes, chief academic officer, will introduce special guests attending the ceremony.

Dr. Robert C. Brown, president of Arkansas Tech, will give the welcome during the ceremony.

Officials say a reception is planned immediately following the ceremony.

Pinning ceremonies date back to the 1860’s at the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London.  Nightingale extended the honor to outstanding nurses by presenting them with a medal of excellence.

Nursing students on the Russellville campus will also receive their pins Friday evening.  Read more about that ceremony.
