Ozark Campus to Renovate Student Center

The Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus has announced more about its plans to renovate the Alvin F. Vest Student Center for use as a student union.

Upon completion, the renovated facility will house the library, a computer lab, bookstore, a food service area and an informal gathering space for students.

Ozark Campus officials say the renovation project will enhance the college experience for students enrolled in courses at Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus.

“It will create additional space on campus for students where they can study, use a computer lab and relax,” added Sandra Cheffer, chief fiscal officer.  “We are especially pleased to be able to offer a new food service option so students can stay on campus for meals. Overall, this is a wonderful addition to the Ozark Campus.”

Renovations are expected to begin this summer, and the project is expected to be completed by May 2011.

The will be the second construction project on the campus in recent years, as the university completed a 12,000-square-foot student services center in August 2009.
