Overnight Orientation Session Thursday

Dozens of incoming freshmen will spend the night at Arkansas Tech this week during the first overnight orientation session.  The session is slated for Thursday and Friday, and it is one of several orientation sessions planned throughout the summer.

Last summer was the first time Arkansas Tech offered overnight orientation sessions.  As part of the overnight orientation sessions, students spend one evening in a residence hall on the Arkansas Tech campus.  Orientation officials say the sessions are popular because they gives students the opportunity to better understand what life is like in an Arkansas Tech residence hall.

In addition to spending the night at Tech, students will learn more about the Arkansas Tech campus, what services are provided to students and ways to be prepared for college life.

The next overnight session is scheduled for June 27-28. There are also three one-day sessions planned.

Additional orientation dates include:

  • Thursday, June 30
  • Friday, July 8
  • Tuesday, July 26

Each session costs $25, and the fee includes an orientation t-shirt, meals, orientation materials and admission to a separate orientation for parents.

To register to attend one of the orientation sessions contact Jenny Butler at 479-968-0276 or jbutler1@atu.edu.
