Organizational Spotlight: HPEWS Club

The Arkansas Tech Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Science (HPEWS) Club has been advancing the standards of students working towards the profession since 1959.

The Arkansas Tech Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Science (HPEWS) Club has been advancing the standards of students working towards the profession since 1959.

HPEWS Club was originally called the Physical Education Majors Minors Club, but the name was later changed in 1990 to include the Wellness Science majors.

The organization encourages students to socialize with their peers within the major, but also provides students with the opportunity to socialize with past alumni and faculty members outside of the classroom.

HPEWS also provides students with service projects that not only help the students to put into practice what they are learning, but also helps the community.

HPEWS sponsors community events such as Family Fun Night at the Dardanelle Primary, the Plainview Run, the Dardanelle Lock and Dam Clean-up, as well as a host of other events.

HPEWS also holds many events on the Tech campus to get students engaged in a variety of sports such as pickleball tournaments and a kickball tournament during the spring semester.

To learn more about the Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Science Club weekly meetings are Tuesday nights at 5 p.m. in the Hull Building Room 115.
