This week Organizational Spotlight shines a light on the Recreation and Parks Club (RP Club).
The Recreation and Parks club is an organization that focuses on bringing students together with an interest in recreation and/or parks fields.
RP Club holds a variety of trips for its members to experience the outdoors such as camp-outs, float trips, hikes as well as other recreational activities. The club also works with area Park and Recreation Agencies so that students can have the opportunity to do volunteer work as a way to meet leaders in the field.
Since it was founded in 1976, the Recreation and Parks Club has had a standing at Arkansas Tech with working with many organizations so as to provide quality events.
This past week the RP Club joined the Hospitality Administration Society to host a Costume Party and Pumpkin Carving contest for Halloween. The two organizations will also partner again in December for a Holiday Party for the campus.
Officers of the Recreation and Parks Club said that they are always accepting members “both majors and non-majors to join them and their love for the great outdoors.”
