Opera Workshop to Perform "Gianni Schicchi"

Students in the Arkansas Tech University Opera Workshop will perform the one-act comic opera “Gianni Schicchi” by Giacomo Puccini at Witherspoon Auditorium on Thursday, April 26, and Friday, April 27.
 
Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Admission will be free and open to the public.
 
The title character will be portrayed by Darren Drone, a senior music student from Sherwood.
 
Other individuals scheduled to appear in one or both of the performances include Erica Archer, Chad Burris, Katy Featherston, Carling Futterer, Keely Futterer, Rex Kiefer Johnson, Eric Krigbaum, Nathan Lee, Jordan Lewis, Katie Lynch, John Marlar, Caitlin Miller, Melissa Musick, Jonathan Ray, Erin Schlabach, Retha Smith, Brandon Sorrells, Kristin Suggs, Chris Turner, Jordan Webb, Hannah Whorton and Lori Wilson.
 
Dr. Jon F. Clements, assistant professor of music, serves as musical and stage director for the Arkansas Tech Opera Workshop. Brian Conatser accompanies the ensemble on piano.
