The Wonder Boys qualified for the inaugural Great American Conference Tournament and reached the event's penultimate day before being eliminated. It was Arkansas Tech's third consecutive baseball postseason appearance, the longest such streak for the Wonder Boys since they qualified for the Gulf South Conference Tournament each year from 1997-99. Head coach Dave Dawson is back for his fourth season at Arkansas Tech. He has an overall record of 93-65 as the Wonder Boys' head coach. Pete Perez leads a group of six returning all-conference performers for Tarleton State. He is the 2013 LSC preseason conference pitcher of the year. Perez was 8-3 with a 2.06 earned run average last season. Arkansas Tech counters with the 2012 GAC player of the year, Jonathan Finnegan.
