Open Forums for DDI Leader Finalists

The Arkansas Tech University Division of Student Services has scheduled open forums for two finalists to lead the Department of Diversity and Inclusion.

According to its web page, the Department of Diversity and Inclusion is guided by the Tech commitment to diversity and inclusion to promote a diverse, inclusive campus climate for all students, to advocate for underrepresented students, to provide educational trainings for the entire campus and to celebrate the diverse cultures within our community of learners.

Providing academic support for the retention and graduation of students from underrepresented populations is the primary focus of the office.

Dr. Johnell Goins, director of the Kennard Scholars program at the University of Southern Mississippi, will be available for open forums scheduled for Monday, Oct. 23:

  • Faculty/Staff Forum: 3–3:45 p.m. in Doc Bryan 242
  • Student Forum: 4–4:45 p.m. in Doc Bryan 242

Adrian Thomas, diversity specialist in the Computer Science Department at Purdue University, will be available for open forums scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 24:

  • Faculty/Staff Forum: 3–3:45 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall
  • Student Forum: 4–4:45 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall
