The Arkansas Tech University Department of Emergency Management has received national recognition for its excellence in the realm of online undergraduate education.
Arkansas Tech is ranked No. 2 on the list of top 10 online emergency management bachelor degrees for 2016-17 as compiled by Emergency Management Degree Program Guide (EMDPG), an online resource for individuals researching educational options in emergency management and homeland security.
In its evaluation of the online Arkansas Tech Bachelor of Science degree in emergency management, EMDPG noted the variety of topics that students in the program are exposed to and a “strong emphasis on technical know-how” as demonstrated by the use of practicums, internships and externships.
Arkansas Tech introduced its undergraduate emergency management degree program in 1997. Tech was the first institution in the world to have its degree programs in emergency management accredited by the Foundation on Higher Education in Disaster/Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
