Oklahoma Baptist swept a non-conference softball doubleheader over the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville on Tuesday.
The Lady Bison (16-8) won by scores of 5-4 in nine innings and 2-0.
Candace Holden delivered the game-winning RBI double for Oklahoma Baptist in the top of the ninth inning in game one.
Lady Bison hurler Noelle McDowell pitched around a Tiphani Moon double in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win.
Oklahoma Baptist’s Cassidi Henderson pitched a four-hit shutout in the nightcap to complete the sweep.
The Lady Bison got both of their runs in the third inning. Theresa Garcia recorded an RBI infield single and Sonya Beach drove in a run with a double.
The Golden Suns (12-11) will be idle until they visit the University of Arkansas-Monticello for a four-game Gulf South Conference series March 26-27.
