OBU Tigers Take Series Over Wonder Boys

Ouachita Baptist University took 2-of-3 games from Arkansas Tech University during a three-game Great American Conference baseball series at Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia on Friday and Saturday.

The Tigers (12-11 overall, 2-1 GAC) defeated the Wonder Boys 10-0 and 5-4 on Saturday, but Arkansas Tech (11-12, 2-4) bounced back to claim the series finale 9-3 on Sunday.

Thomas Biocic went 2-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in and Jonathan Finnegan was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in Tech’s win. Madison Beaird added three base hits, while Kenny Spencer and Drew Stanton both had one RBI for the Wonder Boys.

Arkansas Tech’s Zak Anstine (2-0) pitched a complete game. He allowed three runs, two of which were earned, on six hits. Anstine struck out nine.

The Wonder Boys will visit the University of West Florida for a three-game non-conference series on Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March 18.
