Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus’ Practical Nursing Class of May 2010 achieved a pass rate of 100% on the National Council Licensure Examination – Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).
In order to become certified as a practical or vocational nurse, individuals must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. This exam has been developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to ensure that standards for professional practice are the same in every jurisdiction.
Mr. Bruce Sikes, Chief Academic Officer observed, “The excellence displayed by these nursing students is evidence of the faculty’s commitment to using assessment to improve student learning outcomes. Arkansas Tech – Ozark is vigilant in its efforts to seek out strategies leading to student achievement in the classroom and into the future workplace.” Sikes added, “We feel that the information gained through assessing our program, our students, and along with the reconstruction of some phases of the course, have allowed the students to achieve their goal of a 100% pass rate for the second consecutive year.”
