Nunbhakdi Finishes T-13th in Florida

Arkansas Tech University’s Pia Nunbhakdi posted rounds of 71-73-77 for a 54-hole total of 221 and a share of 13th place in the final individual standings at the Barry University Women’s Invitational in Miami Lakes, Fla., on Monday and Tuesday.

Nunbhakdi was named Great American Conference women’s golf player of the week in recognition of her performance in the event.

Tech had team scores of 296-299-315 to finish 12th among 15 teams with a 910 total. Rollins College won the team title with a 54-hole score of 871.

Caroline Fredensborg (T-31st, 75-74-78-227), Anna Frandsen (T-42nd, 77-73-80-230), Jessica Sachs (T-50th, 73-79-80-232) and Holly Standing (T-81st, 85-80-86-251) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ team score. Laura Gallizo (80th, 81-81-86-248) represented Arkansas Tech as an individual.

The Golden Suns will compete in the Southern Bancorp Invitational at Big Creek Golf Club in Mountain Home on Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4.
