Arkansas Tech University’s Cheyenne North is Great American Conference women’s basketball player of the week for a second consecutive seven-day period.
North was named GAC player of the week by the league office on Monday, Dec. 12.
She garnered the award by scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds in the Golden Suns’ 77-74 overtime victory over nationally 11th-ranked Drury University on Wednesday, Dec. 7. She also had two blocked shots and two steals in the win.
North is a junior forward from Gallatin, Tenn. She ranks fourth in the GAC in scoring (14.8 points per game) and fifth in the conference in rebounding (7.9 per game).
Arkansas Tech’s women are idle for the holiday break until they host Southeastern Oklahoma State University for a 5:30 p.m. Great American Conference game at Tucker Coliseum on Jan. 5.
