Jo Nixon has joined the Arkansas Tech football staff as a defensive backs coach.
Nixon (photographed) fills the vacancy that was created when former Wonder Boys defensive backs coach Ryan Wallace accepted the defensive coordinator position at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs.
A former member of the Florida State University football team, Nixon’s collegiate coaching career has taken him to Jacksonville State University (Ala.), Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, the University of Central Oklahoma, Langston University (Okla.), Alabama State University and Stillman College (Ala.).
Head coach Steve Mullins and the Wonder Boys will begin their 2011 football season on Sept. 3 with a Great American Conference game at the University of Arkansas-Monticello.
