New Scoreboard at Tucker Coliseum Going Up

Crews from Rainey Electronics in Little Rock were busy installing the new scoreboard at Arkansas Tech University’s Tucker Coliseum on Friday, Sept. 23.

The new scoreboard (photographed) replaces the model that served the coliseum for the past 27 years.

Tucker Coliseum is in the midst of a renovation that will make it one of the finest NCAA Division II arenas in America. In addition to the new scoreboard, video boards will be installed in the coliseum in the days to come.

A new permanent hardwood floor was put in place over the summer. Click here to view before and after photos from that portion of the renovation.

Tucker Coliseum is named for John E. Tucker. Known to generations as “The Original Wonder Boy,” Tucker was a star football player at Arkansas Tech in the late 1910s and early 1920s. He returned to serve as a coach, teacher and administrator at Tech from 1925-72.
