Arkansas Tech University announced the establishment of the Kelly Davis Endowed Alumni Scholarship through the ATU Foundation during its 2021 Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 23.

The namesake of the scholarship earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from ATU in 1981 and was named All-America in 1979 in recognition of his efforts as a place kicker and punter for the Arkansas Tech football team.

After investing the first portion of his career in the private sector, Davis returned to his alma mater as director of corporate and athletic relations in 2004. He became ATU director of alumni relations in 2011 and remained in that role until his retirement in May 2021. Davis continues to provide volunteer service as color commentator on radio broadcasts of Arkansas Tech football and basketball games.

Arkansas Tech bestowed its highest honor upon Davis when he was inducted into the Arkansas Tech Hall of Distinction under the Distinction in Intercollegiate Athletics category in 2008.

Davis has served the community as a member of the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce Red Coats Committee and he is a past president of the Russellville Noon Rotary Club.
