New Instructor at Arkansas Tech – Ozark

 

Michael Murders was born in Exeter, CA, but grew up and graduated high school in Ozark, AR.  He joined the active-duty Air Force in December 1989 and retired after 20 years of service in January 2010. He was a Master Communications-Computer Officer whose career highlights include serving all across the US, as well as Qatar, Netherlands, Germany, Afghanistan, and Korea. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Honors from Park College in 1995 and his Masters in Computer Information Science from Troy State University of Montgomery, AL in 1998.

His previous teaching experiences include adjunct professor at Rose State Community College in Oklahoma City, Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, Instructor for NATO Regional Headquarters in Netherlands, and adjunct professor at ATU-Ozark, before being hired at ATU-Ozark as a full-time instructor teaching courses in Math, Business, and Computer Information Systems.

Michael has been married to the former Leslie Bowman of Ozark, Arkansas for over 22 years. They have three daughters, Marisa, Kristen, and Brittany, and one grandson, all residing in Ozark.
