Nedeau Wins First Place at Art Exhibition

The sixth annual Juried Tech Students Competitive Exhibition announced the winners on Tuesday, Nov. 6, during the opening reception and awards ceremony at Norman Hall Gallery on the Arkansas Tech University campus.

 

The sixth annual Juried Tech Students Competitive Exhibition announced the winners on Tuesday, Nov. 6, during the opening reception and awards ceremony at Norman Hall Gallery on the Arkansas Tech University campus.

The exhibition featured the works of undergraduate students that had previously been enrolled in an art class at Arkansas Tech.

Organizers said that there was a lot of worthy competition but a few stood out and were able to take home prizes.

Awards were presented to:

  • 3rd Place- $100: Sarah Finley
  • 2nd Place-$200: Jesse Burgener
  • 1st Place-$300: Charlcy Nedeau

Charlcy Nedeau was the overall winner with her piece entitled “Becoming a Tree”.

Nedeau’s piece is considered to use mixed media artwork and was a crowd favorite.

To see the winners artwork and all of the artwork featured in the exhibition visit the Norman Hall Art Gallery Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
