Natsuki Uno to Attend Design Conference

One Arkansas Tech University student will be learning about graphics, animation and design from industry leaders next month.

Tech student Natsuki Uno is traveling to Canada to take part in the 2011 Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) annual conference.

Uno was selected from hundreds of applicants to serve as a student volunteer at the conference, which is being held in Vancouver.

During the five-day conference, thousands of computer and graphics professionals are expected to take part in the conference sessions and networking opportunities.  As a student volunteer, Uno will have access to attend each of the sessions during the conference.

According to the SIGGRAPH website, conference organizers also host several events throughout the conference that are specifically designed to assist the student volunteers.  The volunteers will be able to attend special sessions such as résumé and portfolio reviews, presentations by industry leaders and mentoring and networking opportunities.

This will be Uno’s second time to attend the conference as a student volunteer, as she attended last summer’s conference, which was held in Los Angeles.
