Muleriders Take Two From Wonder Boys

Game 1: SAU 12, Tech 2 Trevor Rucker went 2-for-3 with a home run and four runs batted in to lead Southern Arkansas to a 12-2 victory over Arkansas Tech in game one of Friday's doubleheader. Korey Keith and Josh Rodriguez added two RBIs apiece for the Muleriders. SAU starting pitcher Dylan Lynn (5-1) struck out eight in a complete-game victory. He allowed two runs on five hits. The game was stopped after seven innings due to the mercy rule. Ryan Taylor (2-2) took the loss on the mound for Arkansas Tech. He was charged with seven runs on five hits in two innings. Tech pitchers walked seven SAU hitters. SAU pitchers walked zero Tech hitters. Kris Ayers and John Lassiter drove in one run apiece for the Wonder Boys. Game 2: SAU 9, Tech 1 Lead-off hitter Tyler Cameron went 3-for-3 with four runs scored as Southern Arkansas completed the doubleheader sweep with a 9-1 victory in the nightcap. SAU's Janson Carr (4-1) was as dominant on the mound as Lynn had been in game one. Carr limited Arkansas Tech to one run on five hits while striking out four in a complete-game win. Carver Rademacher, Rucker and Keith all drove in two runs for the Muleriders. Chance Scamardo went 2-for-2 and drove in the Wonder Boys' lone run. Aaron Johnson (4-3) was the losing pitcher. He allowed six runs, five of which were earned, on six hits over three innings. Tech pitchers walked six SAU hitters. SAU pitchers walked zero Tech hitters.]]>
