Higher education professionals from across the region will visit Arkansas Tech University on Friday, April 12, for a conference entitled “Every Student Counts.”
More than 300 individuals representing 51 institutions of higher learning over a five-state region (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas) have registered for the event, which has reached its maximum capacity for participants.
The one-day event is a collaborative effort between the Arkansas Student Affairs Association, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region IV-West and the Arkansas Tech University Division of Student Affairs.
Participants will choose between one of two tracks for the day: student persistence and retention or first-generation student excellence.
All sessions will take place in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center, 1605 Coliseum Drive in Russellville. The day will begin with check-in and registration from 8-9:15 a.m., a welcome by ATU President Dr. Robin E. Bowen at 9:15 a.m. and a keynote address by Kimberlie Moock at 9:30 a.m.
Moock has more than 20 years of experience in enrollment, student success and student engagement. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in higher education and organizational leadership, policy and development at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
