Arkansas Tech University student Milisa Montgomery is the recipient of an $1,800 scholarship from Chapter BM of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Sisterhood.

Montgomery (photographed, center) is a senior nursing student from Clarksville. She is on pace to earn her degree from ATU in December 2020.

“This means a lot,” said Montgomery. “I’ve been trying to budget for everything I will need to finish my degree, including scrubs, shoes and lots of books. There is also a program I want to take that will help me pass my NCLEX. This scholarship will help a lot with all of that.”

Presenting the scholarship on behalf of Chapter BM of the P.E.O. Sisterhood were Jill Brown (photographed, left) and Ann Webb (photographed, right).

According to its website, the P.E.O. Sisterhood includes more than 500,000 members in the U.S. and Canada who are “passionate about helping women advance through education, while supporting and motivating them.”
