Missouri Southern State University designated hitter Todd Hinkley went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in to lead the Lions to a 12-4 non-conference baseball victory over Arkansas Tech University at Turner Field in Joplin, Mo., on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions (7-4) notched 13 base hits, six of which went for extra bases. Max Hogan and Dave Prost both hit a solo home run for Missouri Southern.
Arkansas Tech’s Kyle Gibbs was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
MSSU starting pitcher Dan Hawk (1-1) earned the win. He allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on five hits over six and one-third innings.
Isaac Hale (0-3) started on the mound for the Wonder Boys and was charged with five runs on four hits in two and two-thirds innings.
Arkansas Tech (5-6) will host Northwestern Oklahoma State University for a three-game Great American Conference series at Tech Field in Russellville on Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25.
