Students Register for Miss Tech Pageant

Arkansas Tech female students wishing to represent the university as Miss Tech are able to register for the annual scholarship pageant.  The deadline to register for the pageant is Friday, February 5.

Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture and pageant director, says it’s important for students to start working on the paperwork now.  He adds, “I hope all of the ladies that are interested in competing will start working on the entry forms now.  Starting early makes it much easier if they have questions on how to fill out some of the forms.”

To be eligible to compete, students must have successfully completed at least one semester as a full-time (at least 12 credit hours) student at Arkansas Tech and presently be enrolled and attending classes on a full-time basis.

The annual scholarship pageant is sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority and is scheduled for Friday, February 26, in the Witherspoon Building Auditorium.  The 2010 Miss Tech will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech University.

The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will go on to compete in the 2009 Miss Arkansas Pageant this summer in Hot Springs.

Entry forms are available at www.missarkansas.org.  To find out more about the pageant, email Dr. Collins at jcollins@atu.edu.
